Another dream becomes reality for one of our Allstate Sueño Alianza alumni.
At just 18 years old, Sal Olivas officially made his MLS debut with the Philadelphia Union, entering the match in the 63rd minute against reigning champions Columbus Crew. He became the seventh player of Mexican heritage to appear in a Union first-team match—and the first since 2019.
After impressing at Sueño Alianza Tryouts, Olivas continued to climb the ranks within the Union system. He signed a professional contract with Union II in 2023 and quickly became a key contributor. Over two seasons in MLS NEXT Pro, he logged more than 1,500 minutes, scoring four goals and providing one assist. He featured in every playoff match during the club’s historic run to their first MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final.
His breakout moment came during the 2023 Generation adidas Cup, where he helped lead the U17 squad to a championship title, scoring a crucial goal in the semifinal. That same year, he earned a call-up to Mexico’s U17 National Team, appearing in an international friendly against Pumas U18.
Sal’s journey is a reminder of what Allstate Sueño Alianza is all about: providing a platform for young Latino talent to shine—and opening the door to professional dreams.
Felicidades, Sal! We’re proud to be part of your journey.
